The Rock Chute |
|
The Rock Chute Hole is trout
heaven. Two boulders channel the water near the
right undercut bank. When the flow is low, all
the water passes through the narrow chute between
the two rocks, concentrating food floating down
the stream into a small area. Concentration leads
to a larger variety of insects being seen by the
trout, so they tend to be a little less selective
here than on the wider sections of the stream. An
approach from downstream or the far bank is most
productive.
The Limbo Tree is about 20
yards below the Rock Chute. It is another nice
hole, but requires careful casting, to avoid
catching on the flotsam material.
